Students from IHM visited CzechTourism

First semester students, in the full-time Bachelor Degree program in Hospitality Management-English studies, had an enrichment learning opportunity visiting the Czech Central Tourism Authority “CzechTourism“. The activities and strategies for the Czech Republic's presentation in the domestic and international tourism market were explained in great detail. They also show us an analysisof the development of the internal tourism, seasonality, trends, etc. These were only some of the topics that manager Mr. Jan Otava shared with us concerning the marketing research department at CzechTourism.

“On 16th of October 2018, the class of Fundamentals of Tourism had an excursion to visit the CzechTourism headquarters in Vinohrady. As a class, we had the opportunity to get an insight into how the tourism industry in the Czech Republic is being managed, as well as, the further development of CzechTourism as a whole. Mr. Jan Otava also brought to light very interesting points such as how CzechTourism was established, key locations for the foreign offices, the average number of nights tourists from different locations would stay, the top markets visiting the Czech Republic, and finally the most common activities for tourists. Overall, it was a very good experience to be able to see into how the tourism industry is flourishing and how we, as students, can implement what we learned to further our studies.”
