The IHM established its Research Centre in March 2005. Its main aim is to help restore and challenge systematic research activities in tourism and hotel industry in the Czech Republic and succeed their qualified and operational linkage with current requirements within the discipline. The Centre follows in scientific and research experience gained by outstanding universities in Austria, France, Germany and Switzerland. The Centre cooperates with specialists who teach at the IHM, as well as with experts in hotel management, gastronomy, tourism and lecturers from partners’ colleges. The IHM students are also involved in the Centre activities and programmes.
The Centre is involved in solutions of current and conceptual problems of tourism in the Czech Republic and seeks for cooperation opportunities within the EU. The state bodies, as e.g. Ministry for Local Development, CzechTourism and others, can utilize the Centre services on all the levels concerning tourism, hotel management and gastronomy.
The Centre also cares about special and expertise literature and journals which are available for the IHM staff and students.
